Interior trends for 2021
Ever emerged, paint-spattered and happy, from your newly decorated home to discover that you’ve chosen the perfect shade… for last year? We don’t want you to feel like that so we’ve got a few easy ways to keep your interiors bang up to date - whatever the year!
Reuse, recycle, repurpose
Before resorting to the horrors of building flat-pack furniture, look around. Your dining table might have seen better days - but think before you ditch it! Chalk paint could really change it up. It works well on most surfaces, rarely needs messy prep like sanding and primer - so unleash your inner Michelangelo and create your own masterpiece!
Kitchen units or chest of drawers seen better days? Try some of the fabulous adhesive vinyl available - choose from any pattern, style, and colour imaginable! All you need is a steady hand and a bit of patience. An even simpler fix is to upcycle your window dressings. Try dye, fabric paint, or iron-on fabric transfers - a small change can make a huge difference to your home.
Mix it up
Not everything has to match. 2020 has been about championing equality and diversity – so why not extend that to your home? Mix patterns with clashing soft furnishings like cushions, rugs, and blinds.Make a statement with brightly coloured vases and pots dotted around to perk up your plants. Replace lamp shades with statement versions - dare to be different; it’s what keeps life fun.
Line art
Support small local businesses
Buy a few pieces from your local charity shop or local small business. You’ll help keep the local economy going - and you’re less likely to have the same décor as your friends and family. You get to feel great about yourself AND your home is as unique as you - win, win!
Nature
Never underestimate the power of nature. When it’s miserable outside and you don’t feel like a walk on the wild side, why not bring nature indoors? Add some floral prints and patterns, some plants to improve inside air quality, or some artificial blooms to brighten your day. And breathe…
Make it yours
Your home should feel like yours so show your personality! Pop some of your favourite pictures on display. You’re free to paint, decorate and hang pictures on the walls in any of our homes so, channel your inner creative guru and make home happen!
